I've just been looking at teletext holidays and they have package holidays to Spain for £136 for 1 week. I'm going to try and save £50 a month and try and get away before Christmas! I was shocked how cheap they were!

Its not always bad. I rang about 20 or so holidays last time i tried and then eventually got half board to Tunisia for £150 per person so keep trying but watch the phone bill

If it's a 0870 number or something like that, just take a look on 'Saynoto0870'. Most of the time there is a geographic number which is obviously cheaper. At least it will save your phone bill for you.

Our cheapest holiday ever was Gran Canaria 5 days after the twin towers, we decided to go on a Sunday morning and at 9pm Sunday evening we were flying out...£69 per person.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

That was cheap - couldn't stop in this country for that much!

Mind you, I don't suppose people were wanting to fly then!

One of my work colleagues was in Las Vegas on 9/11 and had to stop there for another few days (didn't cost her anything) until they were allowed to fly out again.

Think that is why it was so cheap Jan. I would love to find a cheap hol for next year as I could really do with one, but know in my heart of hearts I couldn't afford it. With us it's not just going on holiday, it's putting dogs in kennels and nearest airport is over 100 miles away so diesel to get there and the parking fee. Just those 3 things are a mini-break in itself.

One day I will dream ....Hope any of you that do book have a fab time. x

Our last holiday was December 2005, and I don't expect us to be going away anytime soon. I'm not so bothered as a couple of weeks at home is at least a break from work for me, but hubbie is retired and at home all the time, so I do feel for him.

Know what you mean about the extra expense. Birmingham and Manchester airports are easy for us to get to, but parking there ain't cheap, and we have two dogs to consider as well.

I shall just have to focus on 5 years time when I intend to have a fantastic holiday!

Hi There,
I haven't had a holiday in years, but am hoping to find a cheap one. I've used teletext and had some great deals - two weeks self catering in Majorca, 3* for £99!! Keep looking the deals are there. My problem was always the surcharge for being single, but you can find cheap ones with some research...
Good luck and let us know how you get on,
Hugs,

I have just got a week's holiday for the family (four of us) at a Haven Hols camp for £180!!

Ok, so it's the last week in September but it's better than nothing - plus my mum has offered some money towards it too, so even cheaper!!

The past few years, the weather has been glorious in September, so if this year follows that pattern, you should have a good holiday.
