Since I've moved I've had a phone line connected. I've had more calls for different people off debt firms. One just rung up and asked for a Mr Green so obviously I said wrong number. Bloke at other end of phone then said he might be able to reduce my debts. I don't think so. I'm already wound up because of coop insurance can't understand that I cancelled house policy when I moved in February. They keep sending letters to my old house saying they've tried to take payments and if I don't pay they will default me and I won't be able to get credit. Why can't people understand they rung wrong number or I've moved house. Sorry but just needed to let steam off.

Crazy isn't it, I would definitely be writing sternly or telling them sternly the facts as you don't need it.

Let off steam whenever you want we all need to now and then. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

One of my friends suffered from nuisance phone calls and bought herself a large whistle. They soon stopped!

Like it Mel .... I have had four calls today from different companies all telling me they can halve my debts !!!! If only they knew they were five years too late ...I had great pleasure in telling them whats what !

Next time luluj - and only if you have time - play along with them to find out which IP firm they will refer you to. The use of this sort of sales technique is not acceptable, and I would love to know who is actually behind it all.

A few years ago I had a call from a random sales person who wanted to sell me double glazing -- I told him I already had it. What about a new door? says he. I disappointed him again by telling him I already had one. So he thought he'd go for a conservatory -- would I like one of those ?

Yes, says I, I have always wanted a conservatory. Anyway we spent a while discussing styles and possibilities. Eventually he asked when it would be convenient for the surveyor to pop around. Anytime would suit ... I guess it's not a problem that I live in a second floor flat ......

.... he hung up on me !!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Excellent! I have a 7 year old boy - he answers all calls during the day at weekends or from 5- 6 week days if we are in. He answers " hello fat jacks pizza shack can I take your order remember pepperoni is on special" this is potentially very confusing for overseas call centres!
