I miss having a cheque book. I've had to ask Dave to write me a cheque on a few occasions and it's a pain. Also I collect and distribute the monthly charity donations at work, so now I have to get a company cheque or else Dave ends up with a load of change!

I was allowed to keep a cheque book when I was in my IVA - my IP didn't have a problem with it. I'd have thought it would be useful in case you need to make any extra payments into your IVA.

I still have one with my Barclays account, but don't use it (don't think anyone would appreciate a cheque for 45p!).

Don't have one with Nationwide for the simple reason they wouldn't give me one.

If I need to pay any extra, I can just do a bank transfer, or alter the amount of my standing order for one month.

I miss not having a cheque book for paying some people. I have said to some people who have questioned why I don't have a cheque book that i have a green account that is paperless, no one has questioned it.

Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.

Fortunately, majority of my stuff is direct debit or standing order. Anything else is cash.

I opened a current a/c with the Co-op just before I made enquiries about an IVA - at that time my credit rating was probably okay, so I got the account with a cheque book and debit card.

I think I would miss a cheque book, if I didn't have one, but at the same time it wouldn't be the end of the world to go without.
