The case of the non cashed cheque deepens!
I had confirmation that the cheque for f&f had been received well before xmas but to date it still hasn't been banked. I called at dinnertime to find out why only to be told it had been banked on the 18th and all was well! After lots of everything's fine there was an 'oh' it's been reversed!!! Apparently it's gone bump at the bank! so ok, it shouldn't have but anyway they now take cards so I was going to get my mum to sort it out tonight.
My mum called the bank to find out what's going on only to be told it's never been presented!!
I called again to be told all was well, the payments showing on the account.....!! hmmm....I now need to call on Monday to speak to the people who actually deal with the banking .
My best guess is that it's been posted onto the account then lost! we'll see!!

Why would they tell you that the cheque had bounced, if your bank have no record of receiving it? Sounds fishy to me, but I'm glad that you are on the case.

Hi
Sounds like a real mess up.
Your bank will have told you if they had bounced the cheque.
Sounds like they have not presented it, maybe it's lost in the office.
You may have to cancel it and issue a fresh one.
Nothing ever seems to go smoothly does it ??
Regards
Andam Davies

I was under instructions to check from my mum and Melanie [:D]
I just wonder at what point they would have actually contacted me about it!

As Andy said, nothing ever runs smoothly....hope it gets sorted...just be careful, if they say it "bounced" they don't charge you.

Seems very fishy to me. Either the cheque has not been presented or it it has your mum can show the staements showing it has cleared tghrough her accounts. Ask your Supervisor (IP) to explain what on earth has happened.

All sorted!
It looks like the bank have rejected it due to my mum's bad spelling!!! they have now managed to track it down. It's been paid by card instead!
It would have been nice if we'd been informed by either party but it's done now.
