Hi
I have this morning received a letter advising that my child benefit is going to increase from the 7th April. From £30.20 per week to £31.35 per week, this equates to an increase of £5.00 per month.
As this benefit is on my I&E do I need to tell my IP, and hand it over. I am sure it will be swallowed up in the increase in food and petrol.
Thanks
53 down 7 to go !!
Cant wait till December 2012

I dont really think such a small increase will matter. As you say expenses rise too.
Each year they increase it slightly. We never bothered to tell the IP and it was never queried at an anual review.

It is not a material jump - and I am sure that you have expenditure which is likely to go up at the same time such as counci tax and water rates!

Because it is such a minor increase I would just wait until your annual review and declare it then! Don't forget a lot can change over the course of the year - bills, hungrty kids etc!!!
