I announced a couple of days ago that me and my partner are going to be having twins.

One of the advice was given was to talk to my IP about my IVA, but also beaware that I can also claim child tax credits, which is great but not fanatastic.

My partner already as a 15 year old daughter, so the babies would go down as a second child as its my partners second child, even though its my first.

But also beacuse its Twins, they only pay out the same as if its for one child, i dread to think the finicial strain on some one with triplets as the same applies.

It amazes me since the age of 16 always paid tax etc never been out of a job but when you need the goverments help, you get nothing, unless you have 18 kids, never worked, never paid tax, then they will give you over 50k a year.

At least with every one in IVA for what ever reason we are all trying to put our lives back and do the right thing by our creditors.

Sorry about the winge

I wonder if HMRC will class them as one person when they become tax payers?

That is unbelievable, two children not one and the costs are double .I agree Melanie when they get a job they must ask to pay half tax, half Ni, one bus fare. Maybe HRMC have been watching too much big brother as the twins are classed as one on there.

Thats a point, I am going to write to my local MP and ask him/her for their point of view of this.

The hospitail said that becuase it was twins their rule was, that you get bogof for the photos, so the hospitials are goverment run, but i bet like meliane as said the day they start paying tax they will treat them as two people

no matter how bad money gets, theirs stll alot more important things in life

I HAVE A FRIEND WITH TWINS AND HE GETS 2 LOTS OF FAMILY ALLOWANCE AND 2 LOTS OF TAX CREDITS AND THEY ARE COUNTED AS 2
Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.

And you will pay for them both at a nursery or with a childminder (ie double!)

HI
Sadly the Tax credits only pay for one baby and not the multiples although you will get Child benefit at £10.75 each child (as there is already a child receiving the higher rate)
Found this site you may find it of use.
