I'm thinking about making my own chocolates for birthdays and Christmas etc. instead of buying presents for people and I wondered if anyone has done this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Wow, a thread entitled chocolate....what a dream![:p] I love the stuff but I wouldn't know how to make it. What a great idea Maizie. I will test whatever you make just to make sure it's ok before you give it as a present.[;)]

You could have a look on amazon for some books on it. X

Very weird ladyh. I had problems last night with an error message - thought it was going to be the same as the weeend, but it seems to have sorted itself out.

Wish Admin could shoot the gremlins as well as the spammers!

To get back to the chocolate. I've never tried to make anything, but if Viki can't be taster for whatever reason, can I be second choice?

I've had a look on Amazon Maizie, there are a few books there but quite expensive. Maybe you could have a look on the web and maybe the local libraby for books. You can get ideas for the general chocolate and then just add your own bits to them. You can get some really nice cheap boxes on ebay. I might do this myself, sound like a good idea. Not sure about giving it away though![:p] X

Thanks for that Viki. Will look on ebay. Just wanted to do something a bit different for presents which would be cheaper than presents and something that had a bit of thought to it.

Found this website, www.chockchicks.com (hope I can put that link in)... for a starter kit it's £20 which sounds a lot but it makes 80 chocolates!! Ten chocolates each for £2.50 per person... bargain!!
