We've got five birthdays and an impending new arrival between November 1st and Christmas so an expensive time for us!

I have a feeling I will be working between christmas and new year. In the past I havent had to work. At our work we run on a skeleton staff and only 1 person per team needs to be in. We have a young Muslim man on the IT team who always wanted to work, but this year is his first christmas being married so I got a feeling I will be in.

Although if its quiet it will mean more time to post on here. xx
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!

I'll be in for both bank holidays and the rest of that week. Not too bothered though as it will be quiet and traffic will be light.

Won't be posting though as forums are barred on our internet.

Hi all - can someone come do my sewing please! Im useless at it, But Im hindered being left handed (well thats my excuse anyway!)
Im really pleased but skint!, that Ive just bought one of my sons main xmas pressy (DSI + games). He will be so chuffed, after he really thought his main pressy last year was one n it wasn't! (Still blame the hubby - x boxs are not for kids! As we have now found out n its was the hubby who wanted one grrrrrr) Still gotta get my other sons main pressy, which I will do next month n hope selling a few bits on ebay will help.
One thing we do though with expensive pressies is give them to them from us - as Santa cant bring things like that! Still gotta do santa sack stuff n everyone else will be done in december! Plus both boys birthdays r b4 xmas aswell as a load of others, I really do get stressed this time of year!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Excellent Lyns!

Have to say that we never did pressies from Santa. Daughter and stepkids were always told that we sourced the presents and sent them to Santa for him to deliver.

I don't sew, I'd rather throw something away! Luckily my mum does my sewing!

I sort of enjoy Christmas, but it's all same old same old now - I've done the same thing for as long as I remember, but as our mum's are on their own we have to spend Christmas day with them. I don't mind, but it's the same even down to what time they go home!

I really don't think shops should be allowed to sell the Christmas tat until 1st December!

We had a houseful last weekend with my parents, daughter and fiance and stepson, wife and bump and two step kids.

I was sooo glad when they all went!

I agree with Skip - Christmas stuff should not be on sale before te end of November!

But if they put all the stuff in the shops my opinion is that the shops would be even more crowded than they are now at least putting stuff in early lets those of us that are organised freaks to get their stuff out of the way etc., prior to the 'rush'.

I know what I want to get people already, it's now getting the funds together and hopefully like I said earlier I'll go on December 5th after the FF 'do'. x

I don't think it makes any difference to the mad buying frenzy that always seems to happen in the last two or three weeks before Christmas. I just hate to see it out this early. Makes it far too commercial.

Daughter and I have a day out in Birmingham at the beginning of December every year where we try and do the lot.

I'm always pretty organised with writing cards though, especially as have to send some abroad.

Christmas things have appeared before the halloween stuff - its crazy!
I just wish they would do the sales just b4 christmas - get really fed up of stuff been half price or more straight after.
We never know what each Christmas is going to be like, as hubby n rest of his family work in tourism, so usually means everyone is working. We have never had hubby home yet for a Christmas day, he misses quite alot.
I expect I will be cooking the xmas dinner for my parents at my house, n probably end up with hubbys brothers in the evening for a few beavys!

The one thing I like about the sales after Christmas is that I can get cheap cards and wrapping paper to put away for the following Christmas!
