Luckily christmas costs me very little. It's seriously over commercialised so I decided years ago as I'm an atheist christmas has no relevance for me, so i leave it to those who want to waste some serious money.

On your next reply on this thread, just ask admin to give me your address.

They'll pick up on it and forward it to me.

Im starting my christmas shopping tomorrow with a cheap mp3 player for 5 year old. He keeps stealing his sister's, keeps him busy for hours so going to grab one out of Asda. Hes going to be hard to buy for because he dont often play with toys, just computers and he shares his daddy's. Hes still got all last years toys, never been touched. What a waste!!!

I haven't got a clue on what my son wants - he certainly doesn't 'need' anything - they never do though do they!

I think I am going to try and buy some of the birthday presents for the following years at Christmas when they have the offers on 2 for 3 etc. This is what I did Christmas just gone and it worked a treat.

Our other kids are easy enough to buy for and to be honest the need nothing and dont really want a lot but the little boy is 5 and autistic. He has mountains of toys which we have chosen really carefully but still, he doesnt play with them. He would rather sit listening to rock music on youtube.
My brother even bought him a big roboraptor because he was so interested in watching jurassic park but even that just sits in a corner never touched. Under his bed are boxes and boxes of power rangers and transformers but no....thats where they will probably stay.
He doesnt like to play out so outdoor toys are no good. Infact the only time he wants to go out is to see his pony so im a bit stuffed as to what to buy.

Viki,

Now I'm more 'au fait' with how this site works, if you like, you can get admin to send me your email address, and I'll forward invitations to the sites so that you can just register, rather than you having to search for them yourself.

Mrs Skint - why not sell some of the unused toys and put the money towards some CD's for your son or a nice / more robust MP3 player rather than a cheap one from ASDA - he will appreciate it more and it will last too!

Ebay or a car boot sale will bring the money in for your sons toys that are sitting gathering dust!

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

I am lucky in that my grand kids are quite young and so appreciate just about owt I buy them[:D]. Having said that I don't really stint prezzy wise but tend to shop frugally. i.e books and such I get from a shop called Works. If you have on in your area you can save up to 80% on Waterstones and W H Smith prices. The bigger games and toys I get from Woollies and Asda, as between now and September gifts can be bought with savings of 50% and better. I'm not sure what I'll do when the get a coupla years older and wand DESIGNER stuff. Probably pretend I've had a stroke and slipped into senility and they will have to look after me[:D][:D][:D]

Jan, Thank you so much, that would be great. X

ADMIN, could you please send my email address to Kallis3 please, when you've got a minute, thanks.[:o)] X

Mrs Skint, If you don't know what to buy your son why not buy some Roo related stuff? He obviously loves Roo so much and maybe he might appreciate that more than toys he will never play with....just a thought.[:)] X

I was actually thinking about that but its so hard, we have been to different saddlery shops and theres hardly anything there for shetlands. Hubby wants to buy him a little cart so he can take us for a ride but i dont think the little one would be impressed with that LOL

I may get him a karaoke machine so he can sing to his rock music. You know, one of them ones with the little tellys on so he can watch himself sing. I think he might like that.
