As Christmas is nearly here I thought I would ask the question - what is your favourite Christmas song?

My absolute favourite is Fariytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty McColl - one of the best songs ever written and sung by my favourite band!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Jonah Lewey, Stop the Cavalry.

I've got Slade as my mobile ring tone at the moment!

Fairytale in New York by the Pogues and anything sung by the Worcester Catherdral Choir. I'm not religious, but the sound of them singing any christmas carol gives me goosebumps. Hubby bought me one of their CD's last year and it's wonderful[:D]

Definitely The Pogues! I'm seeing them in Birmingham on Sunday, may help me get over the possible bad news regarding my IVA meeting today!

I am so jealous Mike! I had tickets to see the Pogues a couple of times and I was ill both times. They are playing at Brixton next week but I don't fancy going to Brixton! If they had played at Birmingham on a Friday or Saturday we would have gone. Oh well, if Shane doesn't drink himself into oblivion before next year I'll try and go then!

He's a legend, this will be my 4th year in succession I've seen them, really makes my Christmas! Although I agree, time is of the essence...

The first single I ever bought was Irish Rover by the Pogues and the Dubliners - 99p in Woolworths on 7" vinyl!

Shane MacGowan has written some of the best songs ever - it's a shame that most people just see him as a drunk and not a genius, which is what he is as far as I'm concerned!

I have been to the shops (first time out in a while). I only heard one christmas sound in one shop and that was christmas carols, I like christmas carols, I know I am probably the only one in the world who does but they kind of remind me of childhood christmases and in our town there is a huge manger with baby jesus and even little lambs,in a shed, Mary and Joseph are there also of course, all the lights are blue white, its really pretty.

You can't beat Band Aid from 1984 - "Do they know it's Christmas". It still causes a tingle, and I was at the first Live Aid concert the following year in Wembley. Oh Dear - really showing my age now!

I was too young to go to Live Aid but I can remember watching it on TV - I'll never forget the one and only Freddie Mercury!
