Hi there

From you previous post and extremely good advice from other posters, I was under the impression that you had approached Melanie Giles, who is,in my opinion, the best person to advise you on your financial difficulties. What has made you change your mind and seek alternative advice?

I may be wrong here, but as far as I am concerned, the CAB are not going to be able to give you nay better advice than Melanie Giles.

Hi there

I am never too busy to help, but my Client Service Manager - Tina Shortland - who looks after my front-line enquiries is on holiday until Monday, so we may have some slight delays in responding to you. Rest assured you will not be ignored, and we will get on to this right away at the beginning of next week. If there is a desparate need to contact me directly, Andy will give you my direct and personal e-mail.

There is nothing wrong with the job you do - it is good honest work, and is very practical with your childcare, whilst getting you out of the house. I could not manage my own workload without some assistance from a great lady similar to yourself on that front, and I think that you domestic engineers are absolute treasures. Coupled with the fact that I'm actually quite rubbish at it as well (OK that's my excuse!)

Do you get wage-slips from the people you work with, or are you self-employed?

Not wanting to be to smug but I would have thought this site is most probably stronger than the CAB and they would most probably would welcome our support!

Which leads me to the question should we not inform the CAB about this forum so as to provide assistance to them during this difficult financial time?

The CAB do a terrific job, and I found out a very interesting piece of information about them today - which I will share in a new post when I have answered the outstanding ones from earlier today. The problem is they are largely under-resourced and under-funded - and can only direct people to the right form of insolvency rather than do it for them.

You could just have a receipts book and get them to sign copies. Sounds to me if you have an adequate accounting system there.
