Hi DAS -- these days they do -- but back when you started PPI wasn't an issue. Mine was started one year in, and, I hope will be a distant memory when I get towards the end.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Das, I think its difficult for others to fully understand how strong the frustration is if they have not experienced the delay you refer to and the consequences it can have on your life.

There has been some very constructive and informative comments posted to date on this thread which hopefully gives everyone a better understanding of the processes and why they have been adopted. Given that these processes are not likely to change, there is still potential to make the current process work better. I think the main delay with respect to Clear debt is more about timing of the PPI issue. Unfortunately we have finished payments at the worst possible time during uncertainty of protocols, processes to adopt and selecting the best claims Company

8 weeks has been quoted as the time to usually have a SAR replied to which maybe the case, however the missing link is the fact that these requests are in my view too slow to be actioned where I am aware that some of my requests were only sent last week despite me signing forms on the 15th February, so I hope this will not be the case for you.

So yes we are stuck with the current process but I still think it requires improvement especially if payments are complete or you are towards the end of your IVA

We are with cleardebt and have received mountains of paperwork from their PPI claims company. I am hoping that with over a year to go that it is sorted before our last payment!

I cannot fault their service and I guess it's just a case of bad timimg for those who have had their IVA finish at this uncertain time.

I do understand how you feel though, I want a line drawn under this as soon as possible next July!!

Also with Cleardebt who have handled my difficult case superbly, I have a good relationship with my supervisor.

As others stated, for those ending their IVA now, the timing of this is frustrating. However Mr Mond has explained the process and not sure any other IP is handling this any better.

I think a lot of IPs are actually handling the PPI issues quite well mole, and have been from the outset.

Sadly there are few that aren't Melanie but like everything in life there are good ones and those that don't seem to be bothered about the fall out if they drag their heels, i can say this from my own experience as my IP doesn't even correspond with me and i can't get to speak with her either, dreadful.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Well I think I will use this thread to start a countdown to receiving my completion certificate. Really Peed off now as had to turn down a great work opportunity due to still being on the register and possible redundancy looming. Thanks Clear Debt.

Last payment - 9 months ago
PPI forms signed - 9 weeks ago

Still no certificate.

I have alerted David Mond to your posting Geordie. He is sure to want to try to help speed things up for you. What a shame that prospective employers have such a dim attitude to responsible people doing their best to repay their debts.

Thanks Mel, However I don't hold out much hope that anything will change this situation now.

Update:

DRSP advise that they have received responses to all of the SAR's originally sent and to their knowledge, none contain information that would suggest PPI was ever paid, just as I expected.

DRSP have however advised that they will submit a complaint/claim letter to each of them as it's possible PPI exists even though the SAR does not reveal any evidence of that and to allow a further 8 weeks.

Awaiting confirmation from David Mond as I believed the response to the SAR was the finish line!!

I will post further updates as I receive them with hopefully some positive news, lets hope.

Well a super fast response from Mr Mond and an assurance he will update me tomorrow to firstly confirm if all the SARs have received a response. He has stated this will trigger the closure process.

So hopefully this is the final hurdle.

If the SAR states that no PPI has been sold, on what grounds are DRSP going to issue claims or complaints for mis-sold PPI? Has someone got the wrong end of the stick, or am I missing something?
