Well I have just got off the phone with B&E and they have explained some of the firms structure to me. There are very few IP's (approx 3) and they are very busy with a case load of approx 200 clients so therefore when you ring your call is taken and answered/dealt with but if this cannot be solved its passed to the IP's.
Re the phone call to be told of the meetings outcome.... After a bit of insistance they have added a note that I want an answer as soon as possible after the meeting and said that they will try to do this, but if they cannot, then I am more than welcome to ring them late afternoon to see if the outcome of the meeting is appearing on screen.
So I will keep you informed of the outcome.....Please wish me luck!

That sounds a little more sensible but I still don't understand the delay in being informed of the result.

By law they have to be in contact with you at the time of the meeting, as though you were actually in the room, so you really should know the outcome immediately.

I would definitely ring them - I really don't think that 48 hours is acceptable. Sadly some companies don't seem to remember that they are dealing with people's lives.

Dont you worry...the meeting is at 11am and I will be on that phone at 11.30am...on hold till 5pm if I have too!!
As for them having to ring me for the meeting itself they haven't mentioned this at all, so maybe each company is different??

I was just told I had to be available on the phone in case there were any questions regarding modifications etc.

oh ok. maybe I'll ring them and suggest it then i'll definately get an answer!! I suppose they just get back to the creditors with the answers to modifications at a later date in this firm.
Any modification ie Increase in amount, could be met by their fees anyway so maybe thats the answer to this high fee debate...its to meet modifications immediately without the need to contact the client hee hee!

I think I prefer the term Battery Farm andy. A lesson for everyone considering an IVA.

are you sure that the fees were £18000? I have an IVA with Blair endersby and reading what you had written prompted me to read my T&Cs!!
On there it says total fees will not exceed £6500?

Our IVA was accepted on 24th Aug ( Sorry only now letting you all know, been away visiting family). We had the phone call within 30 minutes of the meeting starting after insisting that they tell us the same day not within 48hrs as they had originally suggested. The Fees were reduced from £18,000 to £8,500 making a difference from 46p in the £ to 63p in the £. We also had an increase of £13 per month which is fine, it works out that we are £35 better off each month than on the DMP we were on. So here is to the next 59 months.
A BIG thank you to all of you, for all your help and advice, you have all been a rock over the past few weeks!!!
