You get all of those. Electron isn't as widely accepted as a full Visa debit card, but I haven't had too many problems.

The CO OP Cashminder is probably the best acount available at present as it offers direct debits / standing orders and online banking. They even send statements as well.

The electoral register is always a problem so not worth applying until they can "find you".

The account is even fine in bankruptcy and is not closed - however Brighton OR's office are the only ones in the country that demand the account is closed and then reopened. The COOP are not too happy about this as they think - quote - "It is a complete waste of our time and money....... it is up to us who we give an account to not the OR"

Sounds like this bank are switched on and are trying to capture a particularly good bit of the market.

Debt free, and with good money management skills learned from beingin an IVA or Br.

Good for them.

Andy - i have heard of a couple of companies who charger £20 to help you get the acount opened.

Nationwide Flex account is good as well. They do online banking, dd's and so's. The only thing you may not get is a debit card. I have a cashpoint card, but unlike other banks with a similar account, I can use the card at any cash point, not just nationwide ones.

A family member of mine opened one yesterday over the phone, and was accepted instantly over the phone, no charge.
