Hi Amy,

I would think you can, but not sure.

Have a look on website or give them a ring to find out.

I opened a joint account with them no problem. Give them a ring tomorrow, dead easy to set up over the phone. It takes about 20 mins.

you can set up a joint account and although the online banking takes a day or so to catch up the lady on the phone will help you set it all up. no probs.

I keep a spreadsheet with all of my outgoings on it, and I then change the colour of the text when it's gone out of the bank. That way I know exactly what I've got - or usually what I haven't got!

No, I'm sure that won't be a problem. I used mine for a while, stopped using it and then went back to it and there wasn't a problem.

No, there should be no problems with that.

My Nationwide account was set up and only had the £50 they paid in for messing up my application in the first place.

Didn't use it for a year or so.

I opened mine a month or so ago as I need to change from the NatWest account as RBS are one of my creditors. They are switching all my DDs and I have changed my child benefit and tax credits to go into the Cashminder account now. Tax Credits were transferred within the week. BTW it's better to change your child benefit details online as although tax credit people will say they can do that too, it takes ages.

When I registered for internet banking it showed up an old Pathminder account in which I have £1.20, so I could use this for savings now which woud be better than the NS&I acount where I need to keep £100 in to keep the account open! And I can still pay in at the Post Office....I love the Post Office!

I looked at opening an NS & I account but it was the £100 that put me off!

I've got a Smartsaver and 2 Cashminder accounts, and I use the Post Office if I want to pay in (rarely!) or withdraw money.

Even though Barclaycard were one of my creditors, we still have our full Barclays account open, complete with debit card and cheque book. We just pay a small amount across to keep it open (and use it occasionally as well) and fully intend to go back to that one once the IVA has completed.

Does anyone know if it's possible to pay cheques into a Co-op Cashminder account through the Post Office? It's a right pain having to go to my nearest Co-op bank branch? x

I'm sure you can too, I have the full Smile account and that's part of the Co-op and IF I had anything to pay in (never seem to have) then I could use that facility.

Hope you get your account sorted Amy.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

You can pay them in through the post office, though only with your own paying in book, and they have to go into a special envelope which the post office then sends to the Co-Op. The last cheque I paid into mine took a little longer than I expected, but any and all others were dealt with very promptly despite what seems to be a little unwieldy system.

Regards.
