Looks like it's going to be one of the coldest winters on record this year and fuel costs are going through the roof. However, it put me in mind of a funny story I heard some years ago .....

A couple purchased an old home from two elderly sisters. Winter was fast approaching and the wife was concerned about the house's lack of insulation. "If they could live here all those years, so can we!" her husband confidently declared.

One November night the temperature plunged to below zero, and they woke up to find interior walls covered with frost. the husband called the sisters the following morning to ask how they had kept the house warm during winter. After a rather brief conversation, he hung up.

"For the past 30 years," he muttered, "they've gone to Egypt for the winter."

Sounds like a plan to me [:D]

Wish I could afford to do something like that!

Srill cold here, but not as cold as it has been. Very dull and dreary though.

It's cold and dreary here today, but hopefully the cold weather (as much as I hate it!) will kill off all those nasty bugs going round.

Well greetings and new year hello's from Prague.

It's been -8C here most of last week (-4 during the day) and -10C today with a bit of snow.

Luckily I don't feel the cold much, but i've seen the temps in the UK and am well aware how practically everything falls to pieces when it gets cold/hot.

It's supposed to be -12/-13C here on Monday/Tuesday!!

My thoughts are with all those that are struggling with outrageous UK energy prices [:(]

The thought of those temperatures makes me shiver! I'm definitely a warm weather creature!

There was an article in the paper a while back about people emigrating to Adelaide in Australia - 65F in the winter. Now that's my sort of place!

I'm not watching the Ukraine/Russia gas thing every 5 minutes... Honest! lol. Should be okay though. :o)

Hope you all had a good one :)
