In my job I need to pay for a lot and claim things back - I've also got to pay for a flight for work to the other side of the world which as you can imagine is not cheap! What would be an IP's view on getting a credit card purely for company business? Our company offer a company card but we have to have it in our name and all the correspondence comes to us which we then claim back when we get the bill. I don't want to tell my employer about my situation but they way I'm going I may have too! I know that even if my IP said yes I've still got a very slim to none chance of being accepted for credit anyway

Hi s.b,

In this case you would really need to speak to your I.P about this to get there guidance and permission.

Generally I would think that if you needed a company credit card it should be in the companies name. Otherwise if it in your name this could been seen as you taking out credit, eventhough you could provide proof of the cards use.

Thanks for your help
I'll drop my IP a line to explain, I hope they understand but I doubt I will be accepted anyway. It's a real pain here as it all has to be in your name but you are forbidden from using it for personal use and I can send my IP statements to prove this
I just don't think I can pay £900 for a flight out of my current account!

I understand the frustration you must be feeling, definitiley contact your I.P about this, you never know you might be suprised about the outcome.

Also please remember to post your outcome as it may help others who come across this situation.

It is your employer you need to be speaking to her, rather than the IP. I have occasionally put forward IVA proposals where the debtor retains a credit card for the use of business expenditure, but this should really have been done prior to the IVA and not during it. You will find it difficult now for anyone to provide you with a facility, and if your employer really needs you to incur this sort of expenditure they should give you a float.

Hi
If you can get a float to cover expenses[it really is unreasonable for a company to ask anyone to fund a £900 flight themself and then claim it back]then you cn load this onto a prepaid card, such as a mycash plus card. This ia a mastercard an is accepted worldwide.
