Hi,

my last payment of £500 was taken on november the 22nd and now i am just waiting for the certifcate of completion. does anyone or has anyone tried to get a loan, credit cards etc shortly after this?

i desperately need a new car, but pretty unsure if i can get any kind of credit for another year.

Hi Mossco, An IVA will stay on your credit file for 6 years, so you may have another year before it will be removed, pressuming you had a 5 year IVA.

it was indeed 5 years, so what are the chances of getting a loan, slim?

I would not want to get credit again once I have completed my IVA. Anything I buy after 2013 will be paid for first - I feel that I have learnt my lesson with credit once and for all. The only exception to this would be a mortgage.

Having said that, car finance is different to credit cards.......

I agree with that, I dont want any credit afterwards at all. If you cannot afford to pay for it you cannot have it !!
53 down 7 to go !!
Cant wait till December 2012

i understand what you are saying, but its very difficult to go through life without any credit at all, my IVA is paid and it was tough but i managed without £500 a month and never missed a payment so i'm sure i could handle a small loan again.

Hi
There is no problem in taking credit again,I'm sure that you know your limits.Try your current bank because they will be hungry for business, know your history and the staff memeber that authorises loans will have authority, upto a certain limit,to grant a loan and overide any computer rejections,so keep the figure as low as you can.

Dear mossco, Hope you got your mobility issues sorted out. I would like to remind you of the review boards on our web site. You can have your say about the service you received from your IVA provider - if you have not done so already. Best of luck for the future.

Many thanks
