Only ever posted on here a couple of times before but regularly scroll through the threads on a monthly basis to see what questions/issues that others have.
The one that is cropping up at the moment is the GT completion process/certificates and the time its taking to do. I've still got 9 more payments to go myself, so hoping that any backlog they have (possibly from taking on so many other companies claims?!?!) is cleared before then, but i'm wondering, if they are still taking a long time to process certificates and if everything has gone fine on my end come July, what difference does it make to me if i don't have the certificate soon afterwards??
Surely, if i've kept to my end of the IVA - paying all my installments and any excess that is required (although i've not had any income changes/inheritance etc since the iva started) - then i can just live my life as normal after my last instalment, i.e. make no further payments to GT, apply for any credit i want (although im now smart enough not to do this) and basically put this all behind me.
ps, might also have to point out, i've rented all my life, so no property or other assets to complicate things at the end, and no PPI claims outstanding.
Just looking for some advice on what, for want of a better phrase, "the big deal is" about the completion certificate. I may be naive, but i only see it as a means to get the IVA off your credit record.
Until the certificate is received you will remain on the insolvency register, your credit report will continue to show an open iva and you'll find that getting any type credit will be nye on impossible. In addition depending on terms of your iva and windfall or inheritance may have to be passed to your creditors.

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
Just a thought but if claims for PPI have to be done before a certificate is issued and this is holding everything up could not claims go in early whilst IVA is running it's time rather than waiting until the end.
I know this wont help people who are waiting now, but at least it will help those with 6-12 months to go in their IVA.
