That's what I thought Andy.

Thanks for confirming that.

I agree with the others, this site is impartial and anyone is free to recommend their IP if they choose.

Possibly the old 'college' of his is making the bullets for him to fire, fortunately missing the target by a mile.

Jan is absolutely right - we will defend this forum and the experts on it until the last - I have had nothing but help and friendship from people on here, I don't know what I would have done had I not stumbled upon this forum. All the experts and especially Melanie give up their time to help us, giving us and anyone who asks comprehensive and impartial advice (I am not a client of Melanie's, but on many occasions she has offered her advice, most of the time she's on here at such ungodly hours). I have nothing but admiration for Melanie and the rest of the experts on our forum.

I think the forum gives great support to those who need it, I was at a very low ebb when I found the forum. Throught the forum I found Melanie Giles. I would always stay impartial in my recommendations to an IP even though I am 100% happy with my choice of IP.

Morning all, I agree and support all of the earlier comments and I add this;
When I realised that my debts were getting the better of me in 2008, although I did have some knowledge of IVA's, having assisted some of my colleagues in the past,I set about researching this subject more thoroughly.I stumbled onto this site and I found it INVALUABLE.The site, as it appears to me, is like having your own Citizens Advice Bureau, accessible 24hrs a day. When I have posted queries, I receive a response, not only from experts but also genuine people who are going through the IVA process and have no doubt had the same pitfalls/questions/queries etc..as I do.As for advertising IVA companies, I chose one which does not post on this site...
furthemore, as I have already stated this site and it's members gave me a valuable inight as to how and IVA actually works.
So, Paul or whatever your real name is, wind you neck in!! And, more interestingly,if you are a genuine 'poster', why have you not responded??
Keep up the good work guys...

There isn't much that you can't get answered on here, be it debt related or otherwise. We all help each other out on and off forum.

It would be a poorer place without the professionals posting on here. They give up valuable spare time, and certain of them take laptops on holiday and post from there! That's going above and beyond the call of duty in my book.

good morning lesley,hi jp.before finding this forum.i seeked help and advice through national debtline.which is linked to CAB.needless to say excellent free advice organisatoins.not being a proffessional, but having the experience of concluding a iva, i have regularly mentioned national debtline for free impartial advice.as they heped me on the road to recovery.however at the time being a novice and never having heard of iva,s,and dmp,s,they directed me to a firm called payplan, and told me at the time they were one of only two firms they recommend.that by definition could assume national debtline are a lead generation charity.this obviously is not the case because everyone knows what a great job they do alongside CAB helping people with a vast amount of problems debt only being one of them.however since ive found this forum,i was amased at the amount of help available through other companies.and the fact of how important it is to take a selection of advice from different companies before making a decission regarding what type of plan to propose, dmp, iva, bankrupcy etc and what company,IP you feel comfortable with.as already stated WWW.IVA.COM is regurarly advised to get a impartial review of a large number of debt companies.on a personal note this forum and a selection of members some proffessional and some debtors, gave me the knowledge and advice on how to proceed based upon my cicumstancess on concluding my iva early with a proposal of a full and final settlement, which was successful.ofcourse my ip was supportive with this, but without the impartial advice and knowledge of this forum.i believe i would still be tied into my iva now.to sum up the wealth of assisstance this forum gives to debtors like myself,to help them on the road to recovery is priceless, and it is natural for members to recommend quality ip companies that have helped them in there hour of need, melanie giles, david mond, michael peoples, are just a few professionals that i have witnessed helping a multitude of members with terrible debt problems, with the support of other members who have problem solving experiences, like jan skippy julie andy dave again just to mention a few.all the members of this site collectivally help everyone who asks for it.and i feel it is a credit to the uk and feel proud that we have such a dynamic site that offers free impartial advice to the public, long may it last.

Even if someone was giving out free fivers on the street corner - there would be someone lurking in the distance being suspicious and seeing hidden meanings - while everyone else just got on with things and collected as many fivers as they could get away with!!

Some people are just born with conspiracy theories on their mind.
When I was younger I did what I knew - now I know better I do better!

We do get people who try to disrupt the forum, but it never works. We'll always stick together.

I have to say that I totally agree with PJHughes, and I also think the bankruptcy forum is going the same way too.

It is oh so subtle, as is this site, but the touting for business is embarrassing at times

both forums used to be for free impartial advice but the constant references to certains companies are thinly veiled attempts at steering vulnerable debtors towards them, I have sometimes wondered if these posters are real or are paid comission to \"promote\" certain IPS

I have never frequented the bankruptcy forum so cannot comment on that part of your post.

However, as a regular poster on here I do not get paid to promote any IP, my suggest is always to look at www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews and always to choose 2 or 3 to get impartial free advice specific to their situation.

Through personal recommendation I could recommend my IP as I have a very good professional relationship with them, however, I refrain from doing so as I expect any poster to gather their own opinions as what suits me won't necessarily suit others.

No one touts for business on either forum. They are not allowed to. If people wish to contact the professionals who post on either forum, that is up to them.

On the bankruptcy forum, the people who recommend certain firms are those who have used the services of those firms.

No one is paid to promote any firms on either forum, and the vast majority of us are genuine posters with genuine debt problems, and if a company is recommended, it is because the posters have had good service from that particular company.

Nothing wrong with that.

New posters are always advised to contact several companies before making a decision.
