Well following on from my last post a few weeks ago ive now had ‘confirmation’ its all coming to an end very very soon! After waiting 2 weeks for the ‘pre-closures’ to review my file there now happy with it, awaiting final payment (30th March) and then it can be passed over to the closures guys [:D]

As you can appreciate, since I opened the email last night (which had been sat there all day!!!) ive been beaming ear to ear that 5 long years are finally over, finally I feel like I can move on! However it all feels a little ‘strange’ at the moment that its finally over, I guess after 5 years of something being in your mind a lot of the time, to take that away, it will only feel natural you have ‘something missing’!!

Anywhoodle were well under way! DFD have advised closures takes 4-6 months, I’ll certainly let you know how they get on as im currently also mid-claim with the illusive EiF too so well have to wait and see how long that slows things up etc, but for today confirmation I can cancel my standing order will do just fine [;)]

PS Declan......be glad you got off lightly with the harrassment [;)]and thanks for your help over the last 6 months!

Hay Lem

i know, i feel a bit crap for putting the post up, was in 2 mind to post or not as i remember how i felt all that time ago reading others posts who were at the end stages and i was still, as it felt at the time, in no mans land, but i remember it also made me realise there is an end to this process, and i guess thats the beauty of an IVA, its not like a DMP can can go on for ever!

I promise you lem the next few years will fly by!

Arty

PS you an NHS nurse??

No reason to feel like crap. You show there is light at the end of the tunnel and this will be a big help to other posters.

Aww Arty, don't feel bad about posting! you need to celebrate coming to the end you have done so well to get to this point so you go ahead and shout from the rooftops!!!!

Yes I am an NHS nurse, and it's starting to drag now!!! this last year has flown but I feel a bit in limbo at the moment, still a long way to go

Absolutely, those at the beginning need to know there is an end, and those at the end, who may be perhaps, a bit miffed at waiting for a completion certificate, need to remember what it was like at the beginning, if that makes sense?

we are all constantly at different stages of our journeys so people should not fear posting anything, thinking it may upset others.

I was concerned throughout my postings that as I was in scotland my insolvency was to last 42 months maximum, due to the trust deed set up,but people really do appreciate knowing there are people out there who have got out the other side of insolvency.

I can't believe I've done over 4 years of a 6 year IVA (which was set from the beginning). Sometimes I feel it drags, especially lately and then other times I can't believe I've done 4 years and feel really proud.
I keep dreaming of my debt-free future as an NHS nurse, funnily enough!

You let everyone know! I was in your shoes back in 2008, now 4 year's post completion and I still want to shout from the rooftops!

Well done, congratulations and as olympic_torce says, those at the beginning need to know there's an end.

I found the last 6 months months has really dragged, i think because ive thought a lot more about it and what my plans are post IVA.

Do you think being in debt is something to do with being an NHS nurse? i swear i had no money worries until i did my nurse training [:D]
