which government dept decides on the cost of living expenses? and can anyone see them increasing as they are increasing rapidly each week, my £30 isn't going very far of late! Mind that isn't such a bad thing but trying to eat healthly is becoming more and more difficult.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Cost of living is calculated based on each individuals circumstances and providing you justify the increased expenses and have made every effort to curb that expense then you can justify the required additional expense then you will be ok. You need to speak to your IP if you are already in an IVA and demonstrate to them what steps you have taken and why this increase is required. More urgency is required if it means you will not be able to keep up the repayments.
Good luck and keep us posted.

The Government do not really set cost of living allowances - and in our industry there are two recognised matrices - CCCS guidelines, and the Common Financial Statement used by the British Bankers Association. CCCS have recently revised their allowances with effect from 1 September.

If you are a single person, you would be allowed a maximum of £191 for housekeeping on a monthly basis, equating to £44 per week.

Many thanks Melanie the reason why i said the government was because that was what i was told when i queried it at my review, i can manage on £30 a week, it might help me to lose weight! But if the cost of living continues to increase then it will be back to the drawing board i think and Aldi too.
