I presume so. They are just that though, guidelines. It does pay to put everything down and hope they don't cut it down or get rid of it!

do these guidlines ever get altered to take into account rise in energy costs, petrol, food etc
and do the ips ever adjust the allowances to match them or are we left in the dark to discover them at the annual revues.
its seems that this is a bit hit and miss and does not help that only the creditors and ips have access to these guidlines.
i can say with hand on heart that i want to payback all i can,but when you got a family to bring up knowing what you can get allowances for dont half help.

Which is why you should put down everything you spend.

The majority of IP's know how much things have gone up, they have to do the same shopping etc., that we have to and they are usually sympathetic.

David, interesting to hear your political thoughts. I have a friend who sent me a dvd called the "Obama Deception" and when it shows you the evidence of what Obama promised and has gone back on, the sham of the $700bn bailout, who he has running his government, and who he really works for (ie. NOT the American public!), it's frightening stuff.
When Obama hit the scene I liked him and his approach. I certainly wanted him to beat Hillary Clinton but I got a little squeamish about him from reading blogs - certainly when he beat Hillary I then wanted McCain to win as I was seriously going off Obama. When last October came around and I spent some time with a group of American friends (80 in all on a Golf trip in Phoenix) they all said I was wrong and whether they brainwashed me or not I ended up supporting Obama again.

Time will tell and he certainly has an uphill task in the worst economic crisis since the 20's and 30's and a failing foreign policy to boot.[:(]

The jury is still out though - I hope he succeeds otherwise who knows what will happen[?]

As regards the CCCS guidelines and the Common Financial Statement - this is continually monitored and should take into account regional differences etc across the board. It is to be regularly monitored and updated I think now on a yearly basis.

Can anyone post guidelines for I & E as in max I can put as I'm very honest re expenditure but have been told by IP some catergories are too high. Particularly clothes. I have two young children who are growing at alarming rate. I have not purchsed any new clothes for self or hubby since started IVA so previuos years review was ok as it covered kids only.

This year I have literally worn out most clothes etc as has hubby, so had to increase this section. It's not like I spend this every year and I'm not asking for payment to be reduced (as have started work so money has gone up) .

Am baffled about what can and can't claim. So can anyone post a link where I can find this

We are not allowed to issue the guidelines, and the people who work them out (CCCS) do not want people saying they spend more than they would normally by working to the guidelines - as if! They are pretty frugal at the best of times!

Ask your IP to give you a copy - I have no problem in sharing this information with my own clients.

I have asked my IP but not been sent anything. I am very frugal and never have any money left at end of month (actually by last week of month). I just get told it won't get past the creditors - and I know it's for my benefit but I submitted what my expenditure is and I can't cut back anymore.

ALthough I'm now being told about catogories I didn't know existed previuosly so some expenditure has moved to these catergories. It would be handy to know about all this so I can put the stuff down correctly and not have so many sleepless nights.

Mrs Purple - why don't you list all your expenditure and send to your IP and say what are you able to spend and do they fall within the CCCS/CFS guidelines - better as Melanie says ask him/her to forward a copy of same (tell him/her that Melanie sends to her clients!)

back on track - if you are spending more on certain items or new items before or after a revue discuss with your IP and see whether your contribution can be reduced. IP's have discretion to reduce up to 15% without the need to go back to creditors for a variation under the PCIVA (Protocol Compliant IVA).

Or you could fill in the information sheet on the CCCS website which then reveals their allowances! Might be quicker if your IP is slow in sending the stuff to you.

Hi
I find the school uniform policty rather harsh, not so much for the daytime uniform but the PE uniform, having to buy Tshirts with the school name on for £15 rather than one from Asda for £3. Even had to buy tracksuits with the school name on one year, probably never used.
