Hi
I agree with Ang,Think Banking is the only account where you are guaranteed a debit card[Maestro].There is a £12.50 monthly fee and a £25 set up fee.It is well worth it and I have had the account for four years.

Thanks Andy, will look at them, also found on forum that Yorkshire bank offer Maestro also.
Any differences you know of between the two and do you know of any other banks that use Maestro.
The reason I ask is it seems that all DEBIT card only aacounts only offer electron or maestro and more shops etc seem to take maestro.
Thanks

The differnce between electron and maestro are simply that Maestro is accepted in more places, although electron is getting better.

Natwest offer a Solo card with there accounts which i think is accepted in more places than electron but not as many as Maestro.

hi again stickman. the thinkbankig ac is a managed ac. you have 2 accounts a and b and your wages go in the one ,that is where all the debits are set, all your debit money is held when your wage goes in and then what is left passes to the b account and that is yours. This way you know exactly what you have all of the time.
Hope that helps a little

Further more i would probally suggest a prepaid card rather than think banking, it is cheaper.

You can have a Maestro card and there is usually a charge of around £4.99 p/m and set up fee of £12.

Have a look at www.moneysupermarket.com for more info

I agree with Carl a prepaid may be cheaper, it depends how much you want to use the card, some will end up more expensive, also take into account how you have to put the money on, having to go to post offices or shops that takes time and travel. I like my account because it takes any worry of making sure the bills are paid as the money is held straight away and you cant get bank charges, the 12,50 covers you for this as well. Really depends on what you want.

You can transfer the money onto most pre-paid cards straight from your bank account.
