Just my experience, we were awarded 7 points, our house was being allocated on 10 points, we managed to wangle medical points bringing our total to 12 points, so we got the house[:D]

I know every area works on a different system tho.

im in a rural area so you need more points than you would a town, and the housing officer states 28 for a rural property is very good scoring, just waiting now till one comes available
