Could you not move in with your mom temporarily until you get something more permanent sorted out?

my mum lives in a 3 bedroomed id be in the same predicament as i am now with housing points been that road before when i was pregnant with first child didnt work in my favour
will wait to see what the councillor says, also forgot to say i emailed the housing today at work and let all my frustration out stating i wanted a meeting wiht a housing officer and not just a clerk who deals with everything
also asked for a home visit it states on the local council site you can request one
so fingers crossed
thanks though kallis i know you mean well hun XXX

they are tiny houses dread to think how much a 3 bedroomed is :(

Rant away, it does the world of good! I wish I knew the solution for you.

I've read the entire thread and I feel for you.Years ago, I left an abusive marriage and gave up my lovely home, but I was lucky ,the council re-housed me and my girls. Not in a particularly nice house, but it was safe and I made it home.

Years later, I'm married to a fantastic fella and my girls have now matured into successful young ladies.

You come across as a strong person, please try to stay positive. There will be a way forward for you. Good luck xx

Going back to my previous post LD, I know you would not be in a better position points wise (although you may qualify for some due to overcrowding?), but at least you would be away from the verbal abuse and the atmosphere. Probably better for your kids as well to be away from all that.

You certainly wouldn't be any worse off.

The best thing you could do right now would be to go to your mothers with the kids for a while and get your head together.

Whose solicitor has told you about abandonment? I haven't heard that expression before.

I would like to know that also, people have said it is "guaranteed income for the landlord". Will watch with interest.

Good luck, I am in a similar predicament.

The payment will normally be made to you straight to your bank or building society account (if you have one) or by cheque. Payment is not normally made to your landlord.

If you do not already have a bank or building society account, you may want to set one up. That way you can arrange to pay the rent to your landlord automatically, using a standing order.
