How are your courgettes doing Luke? I know this is an old post but I've been scouring the older posts and saw this. I started growing various veg about 3 years ago, and the humble courgette is by far the easiest to grow, and as you say very productive. I'm currently munching through this years crops of tomato's, strawberries, lettuce (obviously) cauliflower and of course courgette's; I still have cucumber, (black) chilli peppers, red cabbage and leeks to look forward to. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, my plot measures about 5 feet by 25 feet.
Alas, I am dying beyond my means.

It has not been a great year for my courgettes. too much rain and not enough sunshine, but still producing enough for my needs even then! God I love them, as you say, so easy to grow.

What with the poor summer, wet weather and previous mild winter the slug population explosion did for all but one of my 12 plants. I used so much slug repellant and put out slug traps (margarine tubs full of booze) but to no avail.

I put out 12 margarine tubs with beer dregs in and on the first night I swear there must have been over 60 caught.

Would have a greenhouse but one I had years ago was destroyed by local yobs as were the ones neighbours bought [:(]
