Hiya
I'm in my 5th year of the iva. No problems so far.
Own a property with my daughter who wants to move out and buy a house with her boyfriend.
A friend has kindly offered a settlement figure in my account and the meeting is set for 30th March.
Unfortunately I missed a council tax payment and have been sent a court summons. I paid it instantly inc costs.
My question is, will this affect my iva decision...Will it go against me?
Obviously I don't want my iva defaulted for a genuine mistake.
Thank you

Hi,

I don't think it will affect it as you have made the payment, however as regards your daughter, if she is financially linked to you it may impact her credit record. I would get her to check it. Good luck with the meeting!

Thank you. That puts my mind at rest at least.
Hope it doesn't affect my daughters credit.
She isn't talking to me because of it :-(

You should be OK- you paid it as soon as you realised and it is cleared.

Why not set up a direct debit to ensure no missed payments in the future ?

At least that is now sorted - one less thing to worry about.

Let us know how the meeting goes when it happens and also remember we are here for any future questions.
