crashed my car into a deer

I am coming up to my yearly review (1st year) and yesterday crashed my car into a deer (oh dear). My excess is £500 to pay, luckily i have been saving by taking the money out of my months expenditure and saving it seperatley for dentists, clothes etc (what is in my expenditure so i do not spend it).

Any way i had managed to save £200 now which will go towards my excess and so obviously have no spare money for dentists, clothes, tolietries, and beans on toast for me for the rest of the month. Anyway payday soon so i will hold out. I am going to borrow £300 off my mum, but will obviously need paying back. I am will just have to sacrifice some things for months to pay back. Anyway with my review coming up, my bank statements are going to look awful.

Should i tell my IP now about my crash or should i wait until my review at the end of August?

I would mention now to your IP, they may be able to reduce your payment for a month or so to help with the excess.

Sorry to hear about your accident hope you are ok.

In the past week I have hit a post and cracked my bumper, some one went into the passenger door when I parked the car in the supermarket and driving home the other day a stone chipped the windscreen. I lease my car so all damage has to be professionally repaired I will have to go through my insurance because I don't have the money to pay for it which means a £150 excess and increased insurance premiums, life seems out to get me sometimes. So like you its beans on toast, jacket spuds and fresh air for the month

You poor thing! They are jolly big animals ... hope you are ok. It would be worth speakig with your IP and seeing whether it might be possible to have a payment holiday.

It's been dreadful here, down south, today ... two very nasty accidents that closed the local (very busy) motorway, one of them for ten hours ... lots of minor accidents ... a bus got stuck under a bridge ... huge increase in volume of traffic with people making their way to the Isle of Wight Festival ... something to do with Friday 13th I wonder?

Gosh I hope you are OK - I've seen the damage a deer can do - an Air ambulance company I used to work for had a deer and ambulance collision, the damage was dreadful.
I hope you can get a payment break to help you through the next few months.

I hit a small deer many moons ago driving between Aviemore and grantown on spey(beautiful countryside),and the damage wasnt too bad but I had slowed down having spotted the deer in the road,which moved away as I was slowing to be replaced by another that jumped right out from behind a tree,meaning I could do nothing to avoid hitting it. I got out but couldnt see it anywhere,my front bumper was badly damaged and a small patch of fur was left attached!!
