Today, I had to chase up my CRB with the Thames Valley Police Disclosure Unit. The criminal background has been completed and was just sitting on a system ''not linked'' according to him to my application. He had to hand carry it over to another office and link them. He then ''closed it down'' and returned to the CRB in Liverpool electronically for them to send to me within 5 business days from when they recive it. Gosh, all of this, but at least it's completed!!
The reason I dedicated time to explain it in earlier posts is because alot of people require them to work: teachers, police officers, registered nurses, health care assistants, some financial institution employers, bouncers, security personnal, some debt collectors.
Basically, anyone who is employed in the field where children, vulnerable adults, jewelry, money and confidential information are a key area of the employment position. If you never had one done believe me you will [:x)]. Why? Because there is an Enhanced Disclosure Section used to check the background of people who may have committed crimes in the past. I mean, would you want someone who went to prison for robbing a bank working in YOUR bank or handling YOUR financial transactions or trading YOUR stocks?
Anyway,if you have not heard from the CRB after 84 days from submitting your application you will be escalated. They will give you an address NOT a telephone or FAX number. Contact directory yourself and get the telephone number of the police dept handling it. Ask for the Disclosure Unit and the give the required details.
This can make all the difference in the world when you have the job and NO CRB completed and you are doing an IVA. The IVA will not be filed until you start working if your income is being included.
I can work now!! Hopefully, next week!! AND have my IVA filed with the court. Then a creditors meeting date and hopefully a peaceful life again![:D] Yay!
All I have left is my humour.
