I've received an income and expenditure form to complete from Morgan Stanley Credit card company, it states complete and return with payment, action will be suspended for 2 weeks and they will consider my proposal. I can't get in touch with my IP, should I be filling in this form, don't want to give conflicting information to what might be in my proposal. Also I only informed them of my financial difficulties haven't actually missed a payment with them yet. Not due for another 3 weeks! What do I do?

Hi Louise
I would wait and contact your company dealing with it before doing anything. As you say it could cause problems if it conflicts with your iva proposal and I would think that is all they would need, I never had any of the companys asking me for a separate income and expenditure so hang on and talk to someone first.,

When I got into trouble and contacted a company via union every single one of my creditors asked for this. I must have had 20 odd from First Direct all demanding the same info. The company acting on my behalf advised me not to complete them, just ignore them. If they rang me I would give them the company contact and phone no, simple.

I would agree with all that.

The only reason for filling in forms like this is if you were intending to do a deal direct with the compan(ies) concerned.

Knock up a generic fill-in-the-blanks letter saying what you are doing, run off enough copies and send one to any creditor who asks for information.

Thanks all for the information. I will wait and see what happens. Unbelievable really in the same postal delivery I received another letter from one of my other creditors increasing my credit limit. Both received the same letter from me giving my financial status on the same day.

Louise,

I have 22 creditors (OMG) and have had loads of these types of letters and phone calls asking me to do a deal direct with them.

I wrote a generic letter back saying no and to contact my IP about my situation. For phone calls just be firm and say your advisors are telling you it is not appropriate to pay them in preference to other creditors.

Just stick to your guns. You will probably get threatening letters of court action etc - just forward them to your IP.

Hope this helps.
