Hi

We had our f & f settlement accepted as payments to date 7 weeks ago following a reduction in my wages. I am keen to get our credit rating improved and was wondering if we can apply for a credit card now or do we have to wait for our completion certificate. My husband has received a priority vanquish card application today. We had an interlocking iva. Is he able to apply now?

Any help would be great.

Hi --- until you get thet certificate you are bound by the IVA: no credit without IP's permission, or no credit over £500 (whichever clause is in your particular arrangements).

It has happened in the past but unlikely that you will get accepted whilst the IVA is on your records, which it will be for 6 years from the start date, at least (dependent upon your completion within that time scale).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Like you I wanted to rebuild my credit score and was offered a Vanquis card just after finishing my IVA. I haven't received my cc but I applied and got it. I intend to pay off my balance in full each month as it has a high interest rate.
Iva finished !
