I was out with friends last night, and they were talking about booking for holidays (obviously a one sided discussion on there side!!). one friend was talking about a bargain holiday which was all inclusive for when kids were off. Then, so matter of factly said "Ooh i'll just bung it on credit card..." I felt sick to the stomach, how many times I must have said that. Reality really hit home. I'm so pleased we've got a tent and we're off camping for odd days for our hols, much nicer knowing its paid for and cheap as chips!!!
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

We've always had a two week break bunged onto a credit card and this year no holiday for us, MIL does have a stactic caravan at Heacham so will get a few days respite there. I've been saying a £ @ day since beginning of Jan and it's all stashed somewhere and only I know where so I'm thinking I can surprise my family by booking a late deal during Summer 09 paid for by my savings! Well here's hoping.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

thats a good idea isthereanend!! we love camping we go with friends. costs approx £16 a night, we used to go wild by eating out etc, but now we are facing up to our problems.. we are taking food from the cupboards and maybe having fish and chips when out for a walk.. trying to not to let our debt spoil the life we had too much, by learning to economise instead..

I must admit that I am getting desperate for a break from these four walls. I haven't been had a holiday since December 2004 (I had a 5 day break in Dec 2006 but was sick 3 days out of the 5 I was away) and would just love to have one.

Just to feel the sun on my face again would be so wonderful.
There's light at the end of the tunnel - it's just that sometimes the tunnel seems so long.

My dad used to take us camping, me and my 3 brothers, when we were little. I can still remember the smell of dew and damp soil in the morning, then the smell of spam and beans for breakfast!!! Went to Loch Lomand once and we all dived in the loch and left Dad to put up the tent...I remember being SO cold sitting round the fire....we had planned on spending a day in Fort William, we ended up driving through as it was teeming down with rain!!! Finished off the trip with me getting a kidney infection, probably off the swimming and the cold..... Good memories though.....
It's nice to be back......

Do what a lot have been doing on here get the tokens when they do the sun holidays for 9.50. We have four night break which we extended to six nights and the total cost for the four of us in an upgraded caravan was £110. We went last year and I have to say hubby and I really enjoyed it wrote about it in my blog. you dont have to spend a lot, usually entertainment is free, loads for the kids as well.

They don't do the offer in the school holidays though [:(]

Still it is a great offer if you have no kids [8D]

my last two years 'two weeks in the sun' were paid on credit cards. The last one, I even at to get the euro's this was.It was when I had a massive panick attack walking in the med on a lovley hot day that I decided to do my IVA route (or something similar)I could not relax, even there.I knew I had to come home and face it and I was using money I could not afford to pay back.We will have a couple of weekend breaks this year.I would love a proper holiday but it doesn't look promising.Keep having to use the contingency money so not saving as much as I would like and certainly not two weeks (or even one) in August prices.Happier though.Sleeping better.Cat

I am not too sure about half term but they certainly don't do them in the summer hols,
I had a look last time.

i work as a teacher and even before opting to try for an IVA, my family have always enjoyed the sun £9.50 hols. they do offer feb half term, easter and oct half term. as you need to enter 4/5 possible dates, i always opt for half term/easter ect. always had my first easter choice every year.[;)]
