Hi all. We completed early with a full and final settlement on 26/02/14.
Our credit file is showing the iva as completed, however all our individual creditors haven't reflected the defaults as part satisfied. I was under the impression they would reflect as this. I know they remain on file until 6 years after the default date. Just trying to ensure we do everything we can to make sure we have everything showing correctly. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you

well done on your completion , I've just got my files updated satisfied and I finished my iva on 13th nov 13 .
I would send each creditor a letter with a copy of your certificate and they should update them for you . Keep an eye on the each month and tackle each creditor if they don't update .

They should update them, but it's still early days.
Most creditors update the credit reference agencies once a month, and some creditors will have used agents such as 'The Insolvency Exhchange' or 'IVA Watch' I'm told they update the creditors monthly
I'd wait until the end of the month (or next month if you have the patience) before chasing. To chase you need to write to the data controller at each creditor. For more info have a look at

Hi, if the default dates are wrong i.e after the start date of the IVA I would definitely contact them to have that part amended. Once the default dates are correct they will drop off of their own accord (keep checking) after the 6 year mark. That is all I did and true to form it worked for me.
All the best.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Lesley - I was told by the credit agencies that it can take up to 28 days from the default date for it to drop off the files!!! So in effect our records won't be clear for 6 years 1 month after the start date of the IVA - yet another "con"! Our default date was Friday (14 March). I bet , even taking into account the weekend, we will still have things showing tomorrow and Tuesday. Even our IVA is still showing as active with Experian!!!!! Think it's a way of getting your monthly fee for registering with them after the 30 day free trial [;)]

Yes mine might have been the following month after the 6 year anniversary but they did eventually drop off.

Most I believe update around the 28th of the month ..... Certainly takes a couple of months from the 6th anniversary to make a difference to your credit report.
