Hi

I started IVA in 2010 and have completed by F&F in Nov 2012. Trying to clean everything up for house move. I know it won't all disappear but I've been advised to ensure the info is cleaned up and all accounts in IVA should be £0 to indicate they are settled/satisfied.

The problem lies - looking at my credit file it is becoming clear that my original creditors have passed on my accounts and two records (or more) are being placed on my credit files, some are both closed others one is open and another is closed.

I've written to all those involved in the IVA that are showing as open accounts and currently reporting default records using the template and the data control officer info - excellent and useful post!!

Question is - How do I approach these duplicate records. Surely two companies should not be recording the same debt? e.g. Barclay card has noted satisfied and account is closed with end date is 30/12/2011 AND for same account Pco Holdco Sarl C/O Watch Portfolio Management has has it as open and is currently reporting defaults.

Like I have said, I've writen to Pco Holdco Sarl C/O Watch Portfolio Management to request they mark account as £0, settled and not after IVA started.

Is this right thou - 2 records for same debt or can i get one of them removed? Any one else had this problem? How did you approach it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

No it is not correct, only one default should be registered on your credit file for a single account.

I suggest that you write to Pco Holdco Sarl and request they remove the duplicate default notice, if yoiu find you are not getting anywhere you can take your complaint to the information commissioner

It has been a nightmare since Feb after my CC I have made money on it but just as you clear one some company put another on. I have two defaults to come off which I have letters that they will be removed in a week or two. But the worst one has got to be HFC they keep on putting me through to India who keep saying I don't exist. I now have an address to write my third letter to them. I want to upgrade my Bank account and all this hassle is delaying it. On T-Mobile I have an active account which my Ex has. They are a nightmare to. Who do you write to complain about them as I have hit my head against a brick wall with them!!!! Arghhhhhh Good luck keep complaining mate they will remove your defaults.[:)]
