I asked Egg to update my credit file on 1st April snd on 7th April they acknowledged receipt of my IVA completion certificate but on 12th April they updated my credit file still in default with the full amount outstanding. Therefore my question is do they have to update my file within a certain period of time?

The information they hold must be correct, the default will show for 6 years from the start date of your IVA,but should show as satisfied. Give your IP a ring and ask what they think you should do,after all you have paid them well for their services during the IVA.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Not sure, but they do have to remove the default if it is from after the IVA. I would phone them and ask when they are going to remove the default and mark the account as satisfied.
