Hi,
I completed an IVA last May, one year early. As it commenced in April 2002 I assumed that it will come off my credit report in 2008. But I have been told that the six years begin on the date the IVA is settled. Surely this cannot be right.

It should be 6 years from the date the initial IVA flag was set ie 2002.

If however certain of your creditors have been updating since the original order then that information will remain for 6 years from the last update.

Who said it was 6 years from completion ??

Hello John,

Storm is right, the credit file will have the IVA recorded on it for a period of six years from the start of the IVA at which point it can be removed on request.

If the removal is not requested there is no gaurentee that it will be removed automatically.
