Just checked hubby's credit report on noddle. I can't check my own because I don't have a valid debit card. But it's coming up poor. All active accounts are reporting ok each month. A loan that was included in our ivas defaulted up until August and the iva is showing completed as of October when we actually completed in August? Will this all drop off at the 6 year mark?

Hi Brigadeen,

Sometimes the iva does seem to show you a month or 2 after the completion of the iva. Ours did so I contacted Noddle and asked them to amend their records of this.

With regards to when it drops off, is normally 6 years from the start I believe, but if you have default dates that were applied after the start of the iva, it will be 6 years from those dates, so again contacting the credit agencies will be needed to make amendments, unless you're happy to wait.
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!

Thank you for your reply. So is it worth emailing or posting asking them to remove all info after February 2013 and then just let the iva drop off in February? We don't have any specific need to get it cleaned up but would just like to see our credit getting healthier again if we ever do need

If it was me, I would contact them and make that request in a letter and/or email, submitting a copy of the completion certificate along with it.

I personally would also send a letter to the companies that are showing the incorrect details, as sometimes the companies add a default date after the start of the iva, so won't drop off till the 6 years, and credit agencies may request that you contact them to make the amendments.

I'm a stickler for getting things in order, so as soon as we completed and we were off the register, I went about doing the above.

You can check your own record for £2 (no card required) at time with Experian and Equifax and also with Call Credit for free via Noddle.

Not sure if I am allowed to post the links on here, but are as follows;

Equifax.co.uk - you can get your first report for free ( 30 day trial, but remember to cancel before the end as its £14.95 per month after this! )

Experian.co.uk - same as above except £14.99 after 30 day trial.

Call Credit is the same as Noddle and is completely free each month, and they will send you a free report every month via email.

Me and my hubby applied for Vanquis cards when we completed out ivas and our apr is 21% and both got a £3500 limit! We did finish our iva 3 1/2 years early and still have defaults showing, so weren't too surprised at the apr ! We use these for little things ( never over £100 ) and pay this off in full each month to improve our rating as best we can.

You just need to send £2 to Experian and Equifax. Addresses will be on the websites.
There is also Clearscore which is free. Both myself and Lesley use that.

Mrs R - brigaddees can't use the free trial as she doesn't have a valid debit card.
