I have just read that Nat West are being taken to court over bank charges. Following up on the story earlier this week that HSBC is telling it`s poorer clients to go elsewhere, could it be that schemes such as credit unions will come to the forefront in the future, I don`t know exactly how they work but from what I am led to believe they do lend on a sensible basis. There must be other schemes developing I would think. - Tony

Hi Tony just looked it up on wilkepedia, apparently owned by its members offers cheaper loans etc than banks and have to be a member to use it, other than that you would understand it more. I thought they were very popular years ago especially in the us maybe I,ve watched too many films.

Hi Tony

As you know I also have a practice in Northern Ireland and Credit Unions are very popular over there. You have to have a savings account with money in it to be offered a loan, and theses are generally for no more than £10,000, but they have cheaper rates and seem to have a much more sympathetic approach to collections.
