I always drew my allowances out in a cash lump sum, then divided it into pots for the month. The only things showing on my statement were the agreed DD's going out, the agreed income coming in and a cash withdrawal for the rest.
At the time I couldn't even bring myself to use the debit card anyway !

Reading all of this leaves me feeling distraught with the whole thing. We have just paid our 68th payment of 6 year iva, have sent in house valuation and mortgage redemption( ages ago but heard nothing), expect to pay another year but IF i send in bank statements at review time - a pointless exercise as our agreement states quite clearly that any extension because of equity will be at the same rate as the last year so they can't take any more - I will use a black marker to cover anything that isn't relevant. I will leave only the dd's showing as the rest of it and how I choose to spend my allowances and increases in pay over that time is no business whatsoever of this new bunch of wotsits!

PJG's ethics are not in question. None of us know why Mel took such a course of action. For reasons best known to her she needed to relinquish control over a number of cases, once done she has no say whatsoever in what then happens.

By me, yes they ARE in question. I took out an IVA in good faith last April/May and have been sold to a company that now appears to be somewhat questionable.
It's easy to build a reputation and trade on it. People do. Sorry Foggy, you may have your opinion on this but those of us on the receiving end may well have another.
It isn't exactly ethical to sell your trusting customers on to a dubious company and then wait for them to find out through a forum that they were sold on. I
think the halo has slipped rather a lot and I am sure that a lot of others will agree with me.
It's easy to say things like "PJG files will of course have been in order". But, unless one has seen those files, one doesn't know.
To sell people off and let them find out in the way we did is definitely unethical, as is ducking the explanation
I know many people think that the sun shines out of Mel's wotsit but to be honest, none of these people are in the situation that I and a lot of others are in.
And the fact that her site is still trading for business, to me, is highly unethical - what will she do with the new customers? Which company will they go to?
We were used as pawns in a game and this is the hard truth of the situation. I hope that the money I fetched from the sale of my account sticks in the throat of the person that got it.
Some of us have not been here long and these are the impressions we are getting. Rightly or wrongly.

Am I to assume that you HAVE seen these files to be able to so confidently state they were in a mess ?

Standard gagging clause in the vast majority of commercial transfers.

She is not the only IP in her company and the company does not deal solely in personal IVA's.
Finally, and I do not know, but, say Mel was forced to lighten her workload due to health issues, why shouldn't she ? Or simply wanted to lighten her workload and partially retire, why not?

Fair enough, but we were told that she would not sell us to a company that she didn't believe would have the same values.
Think on it from the point of view of us who were sold.
Why were we sold? You mention reasons for selling but why still trading and taking on new business?
Foggy, I really do appreciate what you say and your expertise is great.
But try to see it from my POV.
Why did someone take me on and sell my case on knowing I had no recourse to go with someone else?
How do I and others feel knowing that PJG is still taking new clients?
Yes, I am angry,I don't know how brilliant Mel et al were in the past therefore the issue has to also be seen from my angle.

We don't know that SHE is taking on these new customers. As I have said, she is not the only IP in the company. If she is continuing to work, we do not know in what capacity - personal IVA's were only a part of her workload.

Thing is -- this is all spilt milk. I know from experience how you all feel -- but this energy would be better spent in going forward, rather than looking backward.
You have been dealt the hand -- now make the best you can of it.

One person survived. It isn't gospel that everyone will.
I truly respect you and the things that you write and I am grateful to you for what you say, but this situation is an unknown for me and for others. I have NO KNOWLEDGE about IVAs and my mental health issues got me into this situation in the first place. I will now say that I am heavily medicated in order for me to function and hold down a job. And I am not some loony who cannot be trusted.
We are all different, you are clearly incredibly strong and knowledgeable about the whole IVA market and what to do and how to handle situations. Lots of us, including me, are not.
Thank you for your kind comments Ivamess. I am not a strong person and have simply learned as I have gone along.
I will admit, here and now, that I have had mental health issues to deal with in the past and am aware of the debilitating effects of some of the meds.
Currently I have, among other things, M.E and on several meds -- hence my name "Foggy", as that is how my mind feels a lot of the time
I am not particularly strong, nor knowledgable --- but we need, together, to harness this energy caused from the current situation to move forward. Dwelling on what we cannot change and what has passed under the bridge is a waste of what little resource we have.
