They are not allowed to discuss your problems or IVA with anyone but you. They would be in serious trouble with the date protection laws if they did and they wouldnt risk it.

They do and will phone you at work, its a flipping right pain but you can ask them to remove your works number. They are NOT allowed to discuss your case with anyone else so dont worry about that at all.

Hi there from me

I agree with lily's post. You can also tell them that you are not allowed private phonecalls at work and that they could put your job at risk.
Hopefully you wont get any.

I really remember and understand how stressfull things feel at this point.
If you get calls dont be intimidated by them they are just doing a job. Give them the info they need, ref no or company setting up your iva and refer them to them, and dont be drawn to making any payments, some can be pushy.

I had caller id and knew who was calling, but still answered the calls and had no problems with most.

The only way my creditors could contact me at work was through my mobile, I always kept my boss up to date, i had to do becuase i had a company visa card, he was very good and got my number cancelled and got me a new one, with agreement from IP and I only gave it to my IP.

Creditors actually have better things to do than to phone your employer and cause trouble, and if they were to do this (and they won't) you would have grounds for a big complaint against them. Don't worry - but the sooner you get the ball rolling with the IVA the better.

Fergie

It seems that youre so stressed out right now you are trying to solve the whole problem in one go. You seem to me to be in one dark place and your brain is just going round and round in circles and getting nowhere. Just try taking one step at a time and one day at a time. Just try thinking of the problems as a huge rolled up ball of string or something which is too big to deal with all in one go. If you start to roll it out from the begining you will see much more clearly and any screwed up bits can be ironed out as you go along. Its so easy at this stage to feel totally over whelmed by it all and it seems to spark off every negative fear and you cant move forward. Fear is something knowledge can shoot down. Do some small thing today to get the ball rolling from the begining and you will get to the end, feeling so much better than you do now.

Love
LILY

I agree Skippy. I believe it is classed as 'shouting'! It does make it hard though.

Me too, I agree with you both, its difficult to read and I also think of it as shouting, even though you are, I am sure only shouting for help. (we hear you).

Love and stay sane.

Creditors have a habit in trying to contact you at your place of work but are not entitled to speak to your employers about your financial problems. There are strict penalties in place for any creditor that transgresses this.
Speak to an IP - get the appropriate advice and hopefully it will be a recommendation for an IVA. Good luck.
