Hi all
Been very busy all day, been food shopping, it was really busy. So everything done and bought now.
Cause I have been so busy today, not thought much about my meeting. But now I have all done and feel relaxed and proud about Christmas as I have managed to pay for everything with CASH, no big bills in January.
But now thinking about my all important creditors meeting in 5 days and keep thinking "what if" ??
The other thing, is I keep receiving my current cc statments and the balance owed keeps going up from the figures on my proposal, does this matter ?? I have not used my cards at all since I first spoke to Clearstart.
Still keep receiving the horrible nasty letters now.
53 down 7 to go !!
Cant wait till December 2012

Hang in there Caraf, you're five days away from those letters stopping for good.... I'm working on the 27th, but will be home by 6 and will log on straight away to congratulate you... Glad your shopping took your mind away from the meeting for a few hours.... if it helps, I can recommend wrestling under a car with a haines manual gripped between your teeth (because you can't afford to take it to a mechanic)as another fine way of putting everything else completely out of your mind!!!

Take care and have a great Christmas...

If you been with a creditor for a long time, say 18 years and never missed a payment, would they look upon this favouritely when voting

Not sure whether thay take that into account to be honest.... When I entered into my IVA I'd never missed a single payment to any creditor, never let a bill go unpaid at red and gone without some pretty basic essentails for months to keep those minimum payments going (and every month, the interest overtook my efforts)... Despite that, and an A1 credit rating, I only just got my 75% agreement.... Don't suppose I'll ever no why, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, every case is individual and it appears as though creditors vote yes when they can see it's the best offer on the table...

My biggest worry was what if creditors reject my proposal, where does that leave me with everything in arreas and such a mess?
The truth of the matter is you will still have the options, but remember that most iva's are accepted by creditors.
I know telling yourself that it, if you are anything like me, is not helping a lot. All I can say is keep busy, don't let it take over your life for the next few days, and don't let it spoil Christmas for your family and you.
At this stage you just have to have faith in your IP.
I know all to well how stressful this is having only just been through it myself and I have everything crossed for you and will celebrate with you on the 27th when it is approved.
I have everything crossed for you
Take care

I'll be thinking of you on the 27th Caraf, I won't find out until 28th as I'm away overnight. I know what you mean as I think about IVA all the time, it's never far from my mind, my IVA (not happened yet). I went food shopping today and the place was heaving, carols playing etc., had a lovely time and I didn't think about IVA for an hour or two, then when I realised I hadn't I felt guilty! Why ? I've no idea. I'm sure it's like with most things, let's get our proposals, approved and on the journey homeward bound and I'm sure we can start living again. All the best for the 27th x

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Remember you only need one creditor to vote, and if it is a yes then your IVA will go through.
I would imagine that your votes will be with your IP already because of the timing of your meeting.
Stay positive,I have a feeing that you will get accepted

Hi caraf

A colleague from work has been having some tests done and now has to have an op in January. He spoke with the consultant who advised it could be cancer.
He is spending Xmas with his family including his grandchildren.
He has decided that nothing can change his situation until he goes under the knife so, for the sake of the children, he is going to make sure he has a great Xmas.

I urge you to do the same. Like Andy says many of the votes may already be in but nothing can be done until the 27th.

Relax. Pull a cracker. Wear a silly hat. Have a drink or three. Don't let negative thoughts overcome you.

Take care

Dave

Dave

That really puts things into perspective Dave. I found the Christmas card that my uncle sent to me last Christmas - he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May 2006 and he wrote about having a great 2007 in the card knowing full well that he wouldn't be here for much of it. Last year I was worried about my IVA and whether I would end up going BR and that card made me realise that there is far more to life than money.

I know that's easy for me to say as I'm not waiting for the outcome of a creditors' meeting, but it's true - if you have your health you can get through anything.

Dave, I wish your colleague all the best for his operation, and I hope he has as good a Christmas as possible under the circumstances x

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I know it sounds hard but just try and relax and enjoy the day.Enjoy your time with your family. You cannot do any more and as long as its your best offer I am sure you will be fine.

Hi Caraf
Glad you had a lovely family Christmas day.[:)]

Why not go out for a long walk or just out somewhere for the day today so you are busy and not able to worry too much about tommorrow.

I will be logging on tommorrow to wait for your news

Best wishes
