Hi all,

I started my IVA in October and looked on my credit file with Experian over the weekend - My IVA is listed but what alarmed me was that most creditors are continuing to report each month that the payments are behind which as I read it means that if they continue to report for the whole 5 years that my credit file will not be clear for 12 years after my IVA has ended? Is this correct?
Thanks

Hi
This can be a problem.
Creditors normally write the debt off their books once an IVA is accepted.
I really do not know what to suggest but hopefully another member can help.
It could be that your creditors are slow off the mark and may well stop reporting the status in a month or two, when the IVA filters through their system.

Hi,
My file shows that some creditors didn't default the debt until 9 months after the IVA and some , like you , are still reporting and leaving the debt at 6 months overdue perhaps to defualt at a later date. These might sit and default at the end of the IVA and stay there for a further 6 years. Also some of the debts show two defaults when they are sold on.And might show more ifsold on again.
There is nothing you can do sorry. It's the last laugh for the creditors.
Best advice is not to look.

That seems really unfair. In BR the last default can be no later than the date the BR order is made, meaning they will drop off at the same time as the BR.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
