I am 7 months into my IVA. I pay £382 for a debt of £43.000.My son has just informed me he is moving out next week. I am really pleased for him as or house is a bit crowded but it now leaves me £120 per month down on my income. He only pays rent on his room so my outgoings wont change as he isnt taken into consideration for food etc. I really dont have any spare money to 'make do' as my IVA company have said I have to use my contingency for dental treatments and school dinners as I hadnt put these in the proposal because I didnt know I could at the time. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Iva finished !

Hi, good news about the extra space - but not the drop in money!

I can only suggest that you speak to your IP and tell him about the drop in income. They can usually authorise a drop of 15% without resorting to the creditors, but see what they say.

I think that you need to see if your IP can agree to reduce your payments as Jan has described above. There will be a little saving on light and heat, and if you live on your own you can claim single occupance for council tax purposes.
