I was just wondering if anybody has purchased a bike whilst in an IVA through the cycle2work scheme? I have already run it past my IP who seemed ok with it as long as I keep them informed and can continue to make my payments. Thoughts on this matter are appreciated:-)

Thanks Lesley, the hope is to try and cycle to work and in the long run save some money on fuel. You never know, I might even get fitter too:-)

Hi my husband is in an IVA and has just got a cycle2work bike when his bike gave up on him and only mode of transport for work. I work in HR and process these(for another organisation to the other half)and there is definitely dont credit check. We just picked the best bike for the least money and it costs him £13 a month for 18 months. He was maybe lucky and got last years model on the scheme so it was much cheaper. Good luck with your search

That's great and reassuring to hear mab, thanks:-) I've read the posts from last year you sent Lesley thanks. I noticed there was a post from yourself about dusting down your bike from the shed and having a go yourself. How did that go then:-)

mmmmm my son went cycling for a month June/early July to France in the Pyrenees. When he returned he stayed with me for a month before emigrating to Guatemala and service my hubby's bike and mine, and to date still not used...I'm shameful!

He loves cycling but sadly couldn't take his cycle to Guate when he left so he will purchase another for use over there I'm sure.

Might get myself a bike -- no-one has felt my backside for ages ... I can wait an extra hour [:D]

I generally allow my own clients to take part in this scheme, so long as it does not affect their ability to fund their IVA contractual payments.
