Debate For Fun, Trick or Treat

Will you be anwsering your door on the 31s, do you think it has lost it's fun and more of an annoyance now? I dont let my children do it (meany I know) but i do answer the door to the first 5.

I only answer the door to a few, not that we ever get that many. Those that do come usually are children of friends so i dont mind so much. My kids dont do it, they have never wanted to

We do...but i do get irked when its 15 year olds with no dressing up gear on...thats just begging in my eyes.

I love to see the little ones all dressed up...and its even funnier when mums and dads are roped in.

I have heart breaker story ...

About 3 years ago all the kids on our street including mine got dressed up and did the rounds..3 doors down lived a elderly couple who used to stand at the door waiting for the kids with bags all made up full of sweets and plastic spiders...then sometime later the elderly lady died.....so the following year i told my kids not to knock that door as i didnt want to upset the elderly man who's wife had died. The next day he came round asking why the children hadnt been...he had the bags all made up ready...ohh i felt so sorry. So we dressed the kids up again and sent them round that night...he was made up.

LOL - i live on the 2 nd floorm so dont get any trick or treaters unless they have a key for the bottom door!

to be fair - they would be more scared of my Girlfriend in her "mud masks" then off the halloween night!

I live in a first floor flat at the moment, so we just ignore the buzzer! We might have moved to a ground floor maisonette by Halloween though, but I think I'll just ignore them!

I will definately be taking my children Trick or Treating - going back to the fun things you do when you are kids!!

I remeber all the times we went out and couldn't wait to finish school and dress up in my black bin liner (times were hard lol)

We get a pumpkin and have collected several bits of halloween decs over the years. We decorate the outside of the house with spiderswebs etc and have bits hanging off the tree outside.

Me and hubbie even dress up!!
Last year we made a big bowl of spaghetti dies it red and put hard boiled eggs which were decorated as eye balls init. The kids had to fish around and find one before they got their sweets.

I do agree with the bigger ones coming around however I guess we are all kids at heart!!

In my old house even though my children have grown up the street used to live in really celebrated,but where we live now its so quiet last year we didnt get one knock.I was dissapointed i had to eat all the sweets.

to be fair it seems as haloween is being fased out - alot of older couples can get quite scared by trick or treaters..

also like sumone else said, alot of people look a it as begging.

also back in the day - people knew most if not all of the people who live on thier street, not so true anymore

when i warrra lad (lol) we wnet trick or treating on our own around our area.

i wouldnt dream of letting my son go on his own!

The end of the road where our flat is isn't too bad, but when you get to the other end it's not pleasant. I was driving past the houses a while ago and a little boy (who couldn't have been more than 5) jumped out into the road, stuck his middle fingers up at me and ran off!

Someone who lived in one of the other flats challenged the kids who were playing football by some parked cars (not worrying if the ball hit the car) and next time he went out his car had been keyed.

I can't wait to move!

lol - exaclty, even if your neighbour cuuaght them in the act they would only tell him to "f-off"

kids these days run around like the untouchables and they know it.
