Thanks for the support, you're all lovely.

I have a big file and couldn't be more organised and I've got all the recorded post office receipts, but I just went into shock and started shaking. I didn't want to invite her in, I didn't want to shut the door on her but I didn't want to leave her on the doorstep either so I just stayed put![:I]

I might just call them again rb, it won't hurt. My Dad's just called from his mobile to see how I was....ah, bless him. He said he's fine and not to worry about him. I hate doing this to him and I can't stop worrying.[:(] X

I've just got off the phone with mercers. They DO have all the details so they don't know why the debt collector didn't know that, but they said that just because I am in the process of the IVA, it will not stop them trying to collect on the debt. It won't stop until the IVA has been approved. Fair enough. Fingers crossed they won't come again. Now I'm worried about the other creditors.......[xx(] X

It is quite rare for companies to door step like this.

Unfortunately Barclays seem to have a problem voting in time for clients IVA proposals. I believe it's something to do with their internal transfer of client records, Mercers, (there internal collection department), and acting on unpaid debts.

Mercers have a reputation for making clients lives as miserable as possible, and have received wide condemnation for the way in which mangers encourage staff to frighten their clients.

Unfortunately because of Barclays own internal process long delays can frustrate voting during IVA approval.

Mercers no damn well that door stopping is entirely designed to frighten and intimidate, as they can often extract money from their clients in this way, a sharp practice in my view, especially when their inevitably responsible for delaying IVA approval in the first place.

If it happens again explain that your aware of your rights and that intimidating you on the doorstep will not work.

Viki just read your thread that must have been an awful experience, it has now got me worried as I have just missed one payment with Barclaycard and they are ringing me 10 -15 times a day but at the minute they are not leaving any messages, I wonder how long it takes before they come and visit me.

Hey Ann, please don't worry. I hope this thread doesn't scare everyone too much. It will be about 5 months now since I made a payment. X

Hi Sweetheart,
I'm so sorry to haer you've had such a fright. I'm sure your dad will be OK, hes probably gone for some fresh air (and possibly if I was him a drink!!), and he'll come back refreshed - he's probably a bit shaken too. Give him a big hug when he gets back and then carry on.
I hope you don't get any more callers - i never had any, plenty of threats, but no actual callers. I know the fear of them calling I used to dread the door going.
I'm sending a big hug to you,
Thin will get better, keep the forum faith strong,
Love,
Chardonnay
