"There by the grace of God go I" springs to my mind when reading this post. I would hate something like this to happen in my office, but it could happen - busy day, postman due any minute to cllect the mail, inexperienced member of staff, or even a busy IP rushing to get something to the late night box in town.

This is clearly a terrible thing to have happened, and I am so glad that Declan has been able to clarify that he matter has now been dealt with promptly, but as Andy says these things are bound to be of a very exceptional nature - and as with the power and strength of the forum, those of us who choose to bring our own practices to tbe public eye may occasionally have to suffer the embarassment of having things raise in a very public way.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Hi
Just to echo Mels words whilst it is a serious mistake Debt Free Direct must be applauded for posting on this site, remember all the companies and the professional posters on this site, including myself and Melanie, are fully transparent and open to criticism. Everyone else, quite rightly, is anonymous
Regards

We had a similar situation with Payplan where we received payslips for a prison officer from down South. Whilst it wasn't ideal, I just sent them back. These things do happen and no one is perfect, even IPs.

I think it's great that Declan posts on here and has remained doing so. A lot of other companies have started to post but tend to fall by the wayside.

Thank you for your kind words and indeed it is necessary to be open and transparent when you speak as a professional or on behalf of a company. Whilst occasionally this may lead to criticism and embarrassment, i believe it is better to air it and resolve it, whether its on this forum or not, instead of an individual struggling, remaining silent and ultimately failing their IVA and thus that is why thus forum is so important and has help and will continue to help so many people.

Thanks

It's good to see you posting Declan, and it must be reassuring for the clients of DFD to know that you're there to help them if necessary.

Can't believe it's been 12 months!

I think that any client of DFD should be reassured that Declan is on here to assist where he can.

None of us are perfect and in an ideal world there would be no mistakes made. But we are not, and we don't live in an ideal world.
DFD might have made a mistake, just like we all do every day of our lives. We just have to work to put them right. x
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!

As a DFD customer, I too am pleased to see Declan posts here. So far (touch wood) I have not had any major problems whilst in IVA and hope that remains the case until I make my 60th payment late next year! It is also a credit to this forum that concerns, such as the original poster's, can be addressed here, taken seriously and then resolved by someone like Declan who represents such a large organisation as DFD.
Last payment made on 1st Nov 2011. Happy to be debt free!

To just echo others on here, although being the recipient of a pretty bad error is not at all nice, we are unfortunately all human (I think: ) the fact that we are all on here due to error's / mistakes etc.. stands as testament to that, but I take comfort and fully appreciate the fact that Mel, Andy, Michael and Declan amongst others, take time out of their no doubt very busy lives to try and assist as best as possible. It is easy to be critical but we have to look to ourselves to ask, have we never made a mistake?

I think DFD are getting off lightly here, given the amount of distress that could have been caused to 2 families. The majority of us would be absolutely livid if the truth about our insolvencies was let slip to a neighboring family due to an admin error.

Declan may be the face of DFD on here but there are others higher up than him in the company that should hopefully be ensuring that the chances of this happening again are greatly reduced.

DFD make a great deal of money to provide a service and bobrini has every right to be more than angry for this foul up!!!

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

I doubt you will stop this from happening with big companies. Mistakes will occur, and whilst we all agree they shouldn't, and someone should be held accountable at DFD, the case workers are human.

I've made admin errors at work which should have been picked up on at the time, but weren't discovered until much later (at court!)
