i still like the idea of having some form of league table.as andy says a change in colour of name, or when a landmark come along a flag to say your now here would be a start.we would then all start at month one and it does not matter how long you have got left.as it is at the moment only posters with a ticker gives anybody an idea of how far down they are.you can opt out if you like so theres no need worry if its not for you.the forum does something similar already with the post status.

Lesley, I asked about changing the drop.down and was told it wasn't really feasible.
I still don't like league tables - I have enough of those at work.

jan its only an idea.i also have tables at work but thats all they are imformation shared between us on the forum.a lot of people dont want to see how long they got left but its nice to see others creeping near the end in one place.most people got tickers which if you get one from another site you can add as many months as you like, and they show how long that member has to go, but they are all over the place to see whos where and how long they got.my suggestion was for a sticky to be put up and entered into by the new iva posters when they begin there journey.its the same as putting in your start date when you join forum but in its own page.

But if the end date was a option when you logged in then the counter over on the left that said XX month\s down x month\s to go would then be based on that and then you'd have a more acurate countdown.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
To be honest I think it would be much more useful to have a separate section for people who have completed their IVA's to talk about their journeys the highs and lows, I know there is the tips section but not many post in there so a lot of the posts now are very old, I can understand a lot of people probably want to put their IVA days well behind them when it's over, but it would be nice if more people would continue to contribute to the forum to help others and offer their valuable advice, I have been helped so much by the support on here and continue to do so throughout my time in an IVA and I hope to continue offering support as I learn more and even when I come out the other side
I don't tend to worry what section anything is in, as I just look at the top 250 posts (when they work), so get all new posts anyway ( when it works!). Maybe a new designation under the forum name, where we have "IVA Artisan" and "IVA Journeyman", we could put "IVA Survivor" (or something far more suitable).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I'm the same Foggy, I look at the top 250 posts and never know what section the post is in!
To be honest I wouldn't have wanted to be in a league table. It would have been fine when things were going well and it was counting down, but if there was a problem and I needed a payment break I think I would have found it demotivating.
I suppose really the place for people to write about their journeys is the blog section.
I also look at the top 250 posts (just a bit difficult to see who has posted updates at the moment). I never look at different sections at all.
I agree with Skippy, if you do have to have a payment break or your IVA fails then it could be a bit demoralising.
