I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out as you hoped, but please don't agree to payments that you cannot afford.

BR isn't pleasant, but it's not the end of the world. I completed the forms online - you can do them a bit at a time and amend them and save as you go along. They are long winded, but if you have any questions about them please post and someone will be able to help.

I was in an IVA that I couldn't afford for 4 months and it was a nightmare - my other half was supporting me just so I could get through the month. I really didn't want to go BR, but when I'd made the decision it was such a relief. Once I'd been to court it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I felt I could move on with my life.

I had times when I wondered if I'd done the right thing and when I felt that I was a failure and had let everyone down, but that passed and although I've got another 2 years of payments into my IPA (which is much more manageable than the IVA, £186 per month as opposed to £459) I feel like I've got my life back.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and please keep posting x
